Conveniently located to serve the areas of Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Emface, channell wellness and aesthetics, Dr. Patricia Guevara-Channell

Emface is a non-invasive muscle-building and collagen rejuvenation device that elevates and sculpts more youthful facial features. The device administers low-level electromagnetic energy called radiofrequency (RF) and high-intensity facial electromagnetic stimulation (HIFES) that stimulates muscle contractions and supports dermal restructuring without incisions, anesthesia, or the need for any downtime.

In just a 20-minute procedure, Emface can trigger 75,000 muscle contractions, improving facial tone and smoothing deeper folds and wrinkles. Clinicians can apply Emface in areas where patients desire the most rejuvenating effects and adjust the amount of distributed energy. This makes it a highly customizable procedure to address facial concerns in the forehead, brows, cheeks, and under the chin

About Emface

Good facial tone is an essential aspect of maintaining a more youthful appearance. But as we journey through life, our skin and facial features can lose their vitality. With Emface, you can non-surgically revitalize the contours and texture of a younger version of yourself, promoting natural-looking results using the latest aesthetic technology. During an Emface treatment, applicators placed on specific areas of the face emit electromagnetic energy. These applicators then induce supramaximal muscle contractions, which are stronger and more intense than what can be achieved through voluntary muscle contractions. As a result, the facial muscles must adapt and undergo significant remodeling, leading to improved muscle tone and definition.

HIFES and RF do not require the use of any anesthesia for patients- not even topical anesthesia. Patients can undergo an Emface procedure confidently knowing they will not need to take time away from their personal and p  rofessional lives.

RF: Induces Collagen Renewal

The radiofrequency aspect of the device administers a gentle thermal effect to the dermis layer of the facial skin, the layer just under the epidermis (the surface). As a result, it triggers retraction of the dermal collagen fibers, creating more taut skin and eliminating fine lines and wrinkles. (1) Since it warms the skin to somewhere between 104 and 107 degrees Fahrenheit (40 to 42 degrees Celsius), it also stimulates the creation of new collagen and elastin, promoting more elastic and radiant skin with more rigidity.

HIFES: Elevates and Tones

HIFES is a variation of the high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology that is emitted by the Emsculpt Neo, a device created by the same company, BTL Aesthetics. Instead of building deeper layers of muscle as HIFEM does, HIFES triggers muscle contractions in more superficial muscles, making it optimal for use in the face. Emface can provoke thousands of muscle contractions within minutes, so patients must identify what kind of elevating results they would like to attain. Dr. Guevara-Channell can place Emface applicators on the frontalis (forehead muscle) to elevate the brows. Studies show that patients undergoing HIFES treatment for the brows achieved a 23% elevation and maintained their results at a 3-month follow-up. (2) Emface on the zygomatic minor and major and the risorius muscles can lift the corners of the lips, reduce nasolabial folds, and enhance the midface. The Emface Submentum applicator stimulates the muscles just under the chin, sculpting away the look of a “double chin” and providing more jawline definition.

Candidates for Emface

As a versatile and non-invasive procedure, Emface is suitable for almost anyone. Any prospective patient interested in lifting the face naturally, firming skin, and smoothing out wrinkles can benefit from these treatment sessions. Neither of the applied energies can affect skin tone, so Emface is safe for all skin types.

Exceptions include people with defibrillators, pacemakers, and those with metal implants or components within their bodies. These can interfere with the effectiveness of the treatment, or Emface can interfere with their functioning.

Personal Consultation

With Dr. Guevara-Channell, you can expect a thorough and personalized consultation in which she will listen intently to your vision of the aesthetic outcomes you would like to achieve with Emface. She will explain her treatment recommendations and may review other anti-aging treatments at your request; injections like Botox and dermal fillers can serve to resolve wrinkles and volume loss similarly to Emface. She will also explain how the device will work for your facial features, customizing a treatment plan unique to your needs.

Dr. Guevara-Channell is sensitive to the concerns of her patients and strives to provide effective solutions. To see if the transformative effects of Emface are right for you, get in touch with her Rancho Cucamonga practice online, or call (909) 483-1236 today!

Treatment Steps

During a typical treatment session with Emface, Dr. Guevara-Channell will first cleanse your face, and she will instruct you to lie down on the treatment table. She will then place the thin, paper-like adhesive applicators on your cheeks and forehead. She will slowly increase the energy, and you will feel both warmth and tingling sensations. Your facial muscles will contract rhythmically, but the procedure is comfortable and highly tolerable. After 20 minutes, she will remove the applicators, and you can resume your daily routine. You may experience some minor flushing, but this side effect is temporary and will subside within a short time.

When Will I See the Results from Emface?

Emface, channell wellness and aesthetics, Dr. Patricia Guevara-Channell

Dr. Guevara-Channell typically recommends 4 treatment sessions, spaced one week apart to gain the full benefits of Emface. After just one session, the collagen and elastin renewal process will begin and take hold over the next 3 months, so you will gradually begin to see significant results settle in. You will notice the elevating effects immediately after a session, but you will need multiple sessions to sustain long-lasting results. After your treatment series, you can maintain results for up to 1 year, especially if you practice high-quality skincare that includes daily sunscreen application. Dr. Guevara-Channell can provide you with more personalized suggestions for skin care.

Corresponding & Complementary Procedures

Botox and Dysport

Botox and Dysport are neuromodulators- substances that relax facial muscles to smooth the overlying fine lines and wrinkles. Both of these injectables utilize botulinum toxin, a protein produced by Clostridium botulinum bacteria. The substance blocks the chemical signaling for muscle contraction, the neurotransmitter called acetylcholine. Both Botox and Dysport are FDA-approved and have a long history of research to back their effectiveness and safety. Injectors can apply neuromodulators to resolve “crow’s feet” wrinkles, neck lines, forehead and glabellar lines, and more. With neuromodulators, you can expect results for around 3 to 4 months before requiring another injection session.

Juvéderm and Restylane

Juvéderm and Restylane are hyaluronic acid-based (HA) fillers that stay within the dermis of the skin and attract water molecules, creating a plumping effect that both eliminates wrinkles and treats volume loss. HA is a substance produced in the body and skin for lubrication and moisturization purposes, so many patients feel confident in taking this more natural approach to skin rejuvenation. Depending on your formulation, Juvéderm results may last 1 to 2 years, and Restylane typically lasts 6 months to 1 year.

Sculptra and Radiesse

Sculptra and Radiesse are bio-stimulatory dermal fillers, meaning that they spark an increase of collagen and elastin fibers as the skin metabolizes the filler’s microspheres. Sculptra is made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), an extensively studied biocompatible polymer that can treat facial sunkenness, producing results for up to 2 or 3 years. Radiesse is made from a mineral found in bone, calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) transported within a gel carrier. If you get Radiesse fillers, you can expect results to last around 12 to 18 months.

Cost of Emface in Rancho Cucamonga

The cost of your Emface treatment will mostly depend on the number of sessions you undergo and any complementary procedures- like fillers- to enhance your results. Though Dr. Guevara-Channell will prescribe 4 initial sessions, you may require more to provide the facial sculpting outcome you are looking for. She will make recommendations for your treatment plan and give you a total cost estimate, taking into account your unique facial features.

If you are concerned about the affordability of Emface, consider applying for one of Channell Wellness & Aesthetics’ financing options. With the help of reputable companies like Cherry, patients can now feel their best without the worries of paying out-of-pocket fees.
