Laser Hair Removal
Conveniently located to serve the areas of Rancho Cucamonga, CA
Laser hair removal is a safe, popular way to permanently remove unwanted hair. This procedure can be performed successfully on the face, back, underarms, legs, chest, arms, and bikini area.
Laser hair removal utilizes highly focused laser energy to target the hair follicles. It’s non-surgical and non-invasive because it uses the power of light. After each cycle of laser hair removal, fewer hairs grow back, resulting in hair-free skin in the treatment areas.

About Laser Hair Removal
Waxing, shaving, sugaring, tweezing, threading, and depilatory creams can be challenging and time-consuming. And unfortunately, none of these are long-lasting hair removal solutions. Keeping your skin smooth by traditional means forces you to endure razor nicks, ingrown hairs, and significant discomforts, such as irritation and razor burn. Despite expending all of this effort and energy, the unwanted hair can return within days.
Try a different kind of energy: light energy!
Laser hair removal uses highly concentrated light wavelengths to penetrate hair follicles. The light energy is absorbed by the pigment of the hair shaft in the follicle and heats up until the follicle is damaged and no longer able to produce hair. (1)

Preparation
To prepare for laser hair removal, shave the treatment area with a new razor within 24 hours of your appointment.
Because of the thermal effect of laser treatments, excess hair can burn and produce an unpleasant experience. Make sure that you haven’t waxed or plucked the area. There needs to be actively growing hair present in the follicle to make your treatment session effective. Avoid tanning and sun exposure before coming in for laser hair removal. Arrive with clean skin: any lotion, cream, deodorant, or makeup will be removed prior to your procedure. So, don’t waste good product! Also, be sure to wear loose clothing at the treatment site or clothing that leaves the area exposed (if appropriate). This helps to ensure your skin is not irritated by any rubbing after your laser hair removal appointment.
What is a Laser Hair Removal Session Like?
Laser hair removal is a simple and straightforward procedure and can often take under an hour. The length of your procedure will depend on the size of the treatment site and the number of areas you’d like to be treated.
Before beginning, the treatment area will be cleansed and a cooling gel will be applied. You’ll also be given protective eyewear to shield your eyes from the intense light that the Cynosure laser emits. During treatment, the handheld laser device will be gently guided across your skin. The light beam will convert to heat energy, specifically targeting the hair follicles that are laden with pigmented and actively growing hair shafts. Laser hair removal specifically treats hair in the “active” phase. The process of hair growth occurs in distinct ordered stages. During the lifecycle of a tiny hair, its stages transition from actively growing to resting, being shed, and then regenerating. As a result, laser hair removal sessions spaced over several months are required to ensure that all of the follicles are treated as the hairs they contain are in the growth phase. (2) You may feel a slight stinging sensation each time the laser beam pulses. Many patients report the feeling is tolerable with minimal discomfort.
Recovery
Immediately following your laser hair removal session, you may notice some redness and mild swelling in the treatment area. These are common reactions and should subside within a few hours of the procedure. It is advised that you gently apply ice packs to the area, as needed, to minimize discomfort. Hot showers, saunas, fragrances, and deodorants should be avoided for a few days after treatment. You should also avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least six weeks after laser hair removal. You will be directed to apply sunscreen daily to prevent any hyperpigmentation or burning of the skin and protect it when you do need to venture outdoors.
Results
After each laser hair removal session, you will notice shedding and less hair at the treatment site. Although some hairs may grow back, they’ll be finer and much less noticeable. After the course of your specialized treatment plan, you’ll experience a significant and lasting reduction in the thickness of your hair. You may need to schedule 1-2 maintenance appointments throughout the year to keep your skin looking and feeling its best.

How Much Does Hair Removal Cost
Laser hair removal is a customized procedure. All pricing is dependent on several factors including the size and location of the treatment area and the number of treatments necessary. FAQ
Is laser hair removal permanent?
Laser hair removal is a semi-permanent hair reduction treatment that can eliminate the majority of hair at the treatment site. Any hair follicles that are not completely destroyed by laser treatment produce hairs that are finer, weaker, and lighter, making them barely noticeable over time. You may need 1-2 maintenance sessions throughout the year to keep your skin stubble-free.
Can I wax between laser hair removal appointments?
No waxing please! If you decide to attend future treatment sessions, you will be advised to not wax, tweeze, thread, or use chemical products on the area. These methods of hair removal do just that, rather than cutting down the shaft of the hair, like shaving. This prevents the laser from being able to heat and compromise the hair follicle. So, feel free to shave away between appointments.
Is laser hair removal safe during pregnancy?
There’s no scientific evidence about the safety of cosmetic laser treatments for pregnant patients. Your baby’s safety comes first. If you’ve noticed an unpleasant proliferation of hair during your pregnancy, consider the influx of hormones in your body at this time. The normal growth pattern of your hair is disrupted (as are other things). Instead of naturally shedding older hairs, your body retains them. A few months after your child is born, this excess hair will naturally shed. Because of this, laser hair removal during pregnancy may be unwarranted as the hair will thin out or shed after pregnancy.
